Standard House Cleaning in University Park, Dallas TX

Standard House Cleaning built for University Park homes

A separately incorporated city inside Dallas, built out largely in the 1920s to 1940s in Tudor and Colonial styles and since heavily renovated. Lots are narrow and deep, houses are two and three storeys, and hardwood runs through most of the ground floor.

Almost every property is alley-loaded — the garage and the working entrance are at the rear, and the street frontage is not where a crew comes in. Alley widths are tight, so a van parks on the street and the kit goes in through the back.

A standard house cleaning here is scoped around exactly that.

For house cleaning the team focuses on a consistently fresh home you don't have to think about between weeks. A University Park visit is scoped for the 2 to 4 hours depending on home size this service typically takes, with the crew size dispatched for the home you booked.

Narrow deep lots produce tall houses, so the dominant feature is stairs: two full flights in most homes and a third to a finished attic room in many. Treads, spindles and the wall alongside them are a large, awkward and heavily-used surface. Ground floors are hardwood almost throughout, generally refinished, and bedrooms above are carpeted, so the two levels want different equipment. Renovation has left modern kitchens and bathrooms inside period shells, which means sealed stone and glass in the wet rooms against original timber doors, deep architrave and plaster walls everywhere else. Built-in wardrobes and window seats with lift-up lids are common and are where dust actually accumulates.

The working entrance is at the back. The garage faces an alley, the household comes and goes through a utility or mud room, and the front door is largely ceremonial — so the route in, the place to set kit down and the nearest tap are all at the rear of the plot. Alleys are narrow and often blocked by bins on collection days, so a van parks on the street and the kit is carried through. Because the ground floor is continuous wood, the finishing pass runs from the far end back toward that rear door in one direction, and anything that has to come downstairs is brought down before the floor is touched.
