Red Oak sits on Interstate 35E just south of the Dallas County line, close enough for the commute to work and far enough out that lots are noticeably bigger than the equivalent price further north. The older centre is small — a short main street and the houses immediately around it — and most of the growth has gone into Falcon Pointe, Sterling Park and the streets running toward the Ovilla border, where building has continued steadily rather than in one rush.
